Technical SEO Audits
A Technical SEO Audit is a professional, meticulous health check of a website, comparable to taking your car in for a service. This type of audit highlights all of the essential issues that must be fixed in order for the site to be roadworthy on Google and other search engines.
Understand What’s Limiting Your Search Performance
Every audit I deliver is custom-written and goes beyond a box-ticking exercise. My reports focus on the issues most likely to be holding your site back from stronger search visibility, providing clear guidance on the steps required to improve its ranking potential.
Many audits offered by other companies are little more than machine-generated checklists that flag passes and fails across various technical criteria. My audits go further than this. They are insight-led, clearly prioritised, and informed by over 20 years of experience auditing websites and identifying the actions that will help your website grow.
A Technical SEO Audit helps:
- Identify critical site errors – such as broken links, crawl errors, redirect issues, and server problems.
- Identify opportunities for improving crawlability and indexation – helping key content within your site to rank better.
- Identify ways to strengthen website architecture – through better configurations of menu systems and internal linking.
- Identify site speed and performance issues – with clear guidance on how to fix these sorts of problems.
- Identify any issues with mobile usability – helping your site meet mobile-first indexing requirements.
- Identify any structured data issues or errors – with recommendations for adding new and useful types of markup.
- Identify any security or trust issues – for example, incorrect application of HTTPS, or mixed content warnings.
- Identify technical and on-page flaws – such as non-descriptive metadata or keyword cannibalisation.

Why Use This Service?
This audit is suitable for businesses seeking to enhance search performance or to validate the work already carried out by an in-house team or agency. It is particularly well-suited to organisations that want an independent, expert perspective to ensure nothing important has been overlooked.
Even the most experienced SEO teams can miss issues that hinder search performance. My audits are designed to complement and support your existing teams and suppliers by adding clarity, focus, and prioritisation.
I continually track changes across the search landscape, including ongoing updates to Google’s algorithms and broader shifts in how search engines evaluate websites. As a result, every audit reflects current best practice and delivers practical, up-to-date guidance you can act on with confidence.

Frequently Asked Questions
Some of the common questions I am asked about this type of audit.
What is a Technical SEO Audit?
What types of businesses is a technical audit suitable for?
It is suitable for businesses of any size that rely on search engines to drive traffic, leads, and sales. It is particularly valuable for established websites, e-commerce stores, and growing businesses where technical issues may be limiting performance, and for organisations planning a redesign or migration, or looking to diagnose a loss of organic visibility.
How long does the audit process take?
What are your payment terms?
Following our initial discussion, I will send you a quote based on your requirements. If you are happy to proceed, a deposit invoice for 50% of the total cost will be raised. Once this is received, I will confirm the delivery date and schedule the work in my diary. After the audit has been completed and we have reviewed the findings together on a video call, I will issue the remaining balance invoice, which is payable within 14 days.
Do I need a Technical SEO Audit?
Not necessarily. If your website has been audited recently, or you are confident that all technical and on-page issues have already been addressed, a full Technical SEO Audit may not be required. If you have experienced a drop in search visibility and do not believe technical factors are the cause, one of my other website audit services may be a better fit.
